Beginning in 1726, Walsh published no less than five volumes of vocal and instrumental compositions of Handel with the series concluding in 1762. W.C. Smith, the most prominent bibliographer of Handel's published output, lists more than twenty editions in five volumes. As was usual at that time, Walsh recycled the frontespiece for other publications, at times including the new titles by hand.
