Although normally regarded as an oratorio, Alexander's Feast does offer much vocal and musical material. The text is taken from John Dryden's Ode to the patron saint of music, Santa Cecilia. The Clark Library owns two copies of what one antiquarian book dealer called "an excessively rare" book.
